Project Controls Specialist          
     Responsibilities included overseeing $300M budget, providing due diligence; identifying cost savings through monitoring cost per Work Packages; forecast final cost; prepare trend alerts and change notices as required.
     Prepared cost estimates for various projects to be reviewed and approved, and provided management with JDE monthly cost reports on various mobile equipment utilized on site.
     Initiated and developed Construction Cost documentation that allows clients to measure both labour and non-labour estimation costs prior to, during both construction and commissioning phases of the project.

Planning / Scheduling          
     Managed schedule development, planning of activities and resources for Mincenco mining project that involved interaction, consensus building with various clients from other countries and within Canada.
     Accountable for the planning and execution of maintenance, operations activities supporting the commissioning and start-up of refinery modifications and Turnaround 2002 activities at Shell Scotford’s Refinery Facility.
     Interfaced with various plant, engineering and field disciplines to ensure that the plan was developed with sufficient detail that captured scope, costs, durations, critical path and other crucial information.

Quality Management          
     Spearheaded contract administration initiatives in the development, review and validation of RFP’s for Project Controls contract personnel and project management deliverables for Prime Contractors on-site.
     Managed ISO 9001 certification of one company; ISO 9001 re-certification of a second company.
     Prepared project initiative that included written definitions, scope, objectives, resource tables, roles and responsibilities that was approved by Shell management and incorporated into the Commissioning binder’s documentation.

Maintenance Activities          
     Experience in both field and office environments in pipeline construction, meter, compressor stations, refinery and upgrader facilities, scheduling and warehousing.
     Skilled with overseeing project and maintenance related planning and execution of work ranging in project value of $50K to $5M.
     Proven abilities in planning, managing $15M to $40M plant shutdowns and/or outage schedules, new construction, unscheduled or emergency work, including project execution and close-out meeting client’s deliverables and requirements.
