Higgins – Assistant Planner

 

Higgins were constructing a science lab for a school in London worth circa £8m (P6). I was offered a role with training to develop my previous planning experience.

 

Role and responsibilities included;

  • Supported lead planner to establish and initiate the sector and projects overall project schedule
  • Ensured the schedules were deployed and maintained to the company standard
  • Monitored and progressed plans and schedules and made changes as required
  • Assessed project risks and developed mitigation plans where required
  • Ensured on-time delivery of all activities
  • Monitored program plans and updated to reflect program changes Developed in conjunction with the project manager, the plan for man hour expenditure and measuring of progress achievement
  • Provided reports to the project teams and management for project progress
  • Attended weekly meetings regarding status of schedule
  • Progress tracking to make sure that project continue to stay on pace for completion
