Project Controls Manager (Cavendish Nuclear, EDF Business Unit) - Nov 2018- Date

  • Responsible for the implementation of a Project Controls Office providing project support services across the full scope of projects and tasks delivered to EDF Energy generation by Cavendish Nuclear.
  • Leadership and development of the project controls, planning, cost engineering and project assistant team, creating a cohesive approach and high-performance environment.
  • Creating a high-performance project delivery organisation for the portfolio business - developing individual and organisational project management capability. Defining working practices and standards to enable effective reporting across all portfolio areas and enhance standards of project delivery and governance, bringing in line with company procedures and industry best practice.
  • Fostering a data focused approach to collection, analysis and monitoring of portfolio and management data to enhance decision making and overall portfolio outcome.
  • Established new Project / Performance Reporting processes; I drove alignment across business operations, taking a number of disparate practises to establish a common consistent approach to project reporting to enable accurate tracking, early identification or problems, intervention and resolution across 6 Business Units, including the delivery of training and coaching in the new processes.
  • Governance and standards; I revised and improved the existing Governance arrangements, carried out quarterly reviews of projects and reported to Sector Board on the results including the identification of trends across the business and proposed action plans for improvements.
  • Support to projects in distress and capture and implementation of lessons learned.
  • Develop, integrate and take ownership of resource and cost loaded P6 programmes, ensure that project schedules reflect the correct scope of work, cash flow forecast and Key Dates
  • Worked on various nuclear projects across the EDF sites, Duties included Daily/Weekly monitoring of Programmes in order to control the current contractual position involving Earned Value BCWP, Progress and Schedule Variance SV analysis.
  • Production of Monthly % Progress/Cost Reporting of the BCWP (Budgeted Cost of Work Performed/Earned Value), ACWP (Actual Cost of Work Performed) and production of the Year End EAC (Estimate at Completion) & Production of Underpinning Level 4/5 Programmes
