Senior Consultant Project Controls, Logikal Projects, Crossrail

START Date:
August, 2013

I'm currently working for BFK JV on the Crossrail Project as a Cost Planner. As Crossrail strive towards 'World Class', we as the Contractor are expected to produce high quality, accurate information; Where better to get this than from a well led Project Controls Team. Initially I was working on aligning the Costs with Activities in the Schedule so that we could track our progress more effectively with the use of EVM and the Schedule Performance Index (SPI). Now that is complete, I'm preparing the Schedule for a 'rebaseline'. The added benefit of having profiled the budget in more detail is that we are able to use this profile to develop our forecasts, thereby achieving our target of within 5% accuracy each period (Actual Cost vs Forecast). My day job includes management of Cost Bars within the Schedule including the encompassing of Change (£'s); management of PV/BCWS and profiling agreed Compensation Events within the Baseline Schedule; reporting on SPI variances; general communication between Planners and QSs.

Within LogiKal, I manage a team of three Planners who are on other projects. We keep up communication though weekly conference calls. I've also taken on the responsibility of advancing our training offering which includes courses in Primavera P6; COBRA; Acumen Fuse; RIB; Practical Application of EVM; Principles of Planning; and Risk Management.
