Sr. Cost Control Engineer :    

 

About the company: A Leading contracting company engaged in EPC and LSTK projects for the clients such as ARAMCO, Royal Commission,  SABIC, Saudi Electricity, Government  Departments and Saudi Telecom. Right now I am doing cost control for estimated turnover is around SR 1,709,957,826.

                       Working as a Sr. Cost Controller  at  AL OSAIS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS ,Dammam , Saudi Arabia. from Oct 2012 to till date.

 

Responsibilities as a Sr.Cost Controller:

 

  • Responsible to control and monitor projects total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Responsible for checking of the Purchase Orders of different vendors and comparing the Cost it with the  Budgeted Cost and  Estimated Cost and finding out the Cost Variance for the particular items and providing with proper solution as and  when require.
  • To provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc
  • To perform and manage project activity, project productivity and monitoring.
  • To perform technical and commercial review of long time tenders (subcontractor’s quotations) for the preparation of Service agreements
  • To ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of WBS with the use of project management system to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing and delivery up to the closure of the project.
  • To Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.

  • To identify risks related to projects, initiate risks mitigation action and prepare estimates to cover the risks.

  • To Provide assessments of the impact of change on costs through Earned Value.      Technique.     
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with the PMT and external clients
  • To perform project costing related reporting to the team and management’s review on a monthly basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
  • To provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as and when required.

Capabilities:

  • Can Lead the cost Control team, assign job task and set job priorities, design setup process and procedures.
  • Can identify areas of concern for potential cost overruns; recommend action or solutions where possible to maintain expenditure within budget.
  • Can coordinate with project and support units to ensure timely and accurate cost data is available for preparation of cost reports.
  • Can participate in contractual terms and conditions (clients ,subcontractors, and suppliers), risk review contract structuring and negotiations, cash flow analysis, assignment conditions, etc to perform technical and or commercial reviews.

  • Investigate procedures to detect deviation from approved budget.
  • Diagnostic procedure to ascertain the cause of deviation.
  • Corrective procedures to affects realignment between actual and budget cost.

Sr.Planning Engineer cum Cost Controller:                

                   

                       Worked as a Sr.Planning Engineer Cum Cost Controller  at  HUSSAIN’S TAMEER GROUP OF CONSTRUCTION , Hyderabad, from Oct 2007 to till August 2012.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities as a Sr. Planning  & Cost Control Engineer  include:

                  Project costing, monitoring project progress, generation of schedule reports of project, creation of reports of actual and budgeted quantities of materials by Primavera Project Planner.Being the team leader of the group I had to structure a time frame for task completion in different modules.
 

1 ) Developing detailed Project Execution Program in conjunction with main contractor's Program of Works.

2 ) To cascade and develop internal production schedule based on site requirements.

3 ) To coordinate with production and design to ascertain the completion of work orders as per the requirements of site schedule.

4 ) To coordinate with the Sub Contractors to update and report weekly site progress report.

5 ) To present schedules of work and progress using visual aids such as charts , bar graphs , actual site photos.

6 ) To liaise and coordinate with the Project staff to amend and update the project program whenever necessary.

                    7) To prepare reports for management which may include project status reports, status    of payments, schedules, financial analyses and earned value achievements.

8 ) To review and implementation of schedules of work.

 9) To coordinate Mechanical activities like Steel Structure Installation, Equipment and Piping Installation, Welding, Testing and Commissioning of Mechanical works ,Electrical Substation Installation and Instrumentation in industrial projects .
