Programme Controls Manager

TfL / London Underground Limited (2007 – 2009)

Responsible for the strategic planning for the Cooling the Tube initiative, a complex £912 million programme comprising a large number of innovative design, engineering and environmental projects.  Led constructive challenge to key project information, which was important to enable assurance to the Project Director and Sponsors within project investment and governance arrangements.  Specific activities undertaken include:

  • Establishing and maintaining a Programme Controls process and framework, to structure the development process and stages for all of the 80 workstreams.  This is underpinned by a number of project control processes
  • Managing a team of eleven planning, project controls, risk and information specialists and working across the organisation and wider stakeholders
  • Gathering and assimilating project reports and deliverables
  • Programme risk management, including use Pertmaster risk analysis software
  • Establishing the knowledge management system for the programme
  • Critical challenge and advice on the overall strategic programme schedule
  • Assessing project cost and performance information
  • Project and programme management support to the Deputy Programme Director.
