The primary purpose of this role was to estimate, plan and schedule all work activities for the 2011 shutdowns at the Caltex oil refinery, Kurnell.

Responsibilities include:

  • Physically evaluate the scope of work on site, interpret the description of requirements and estimate utilising traceable documentation, facilitated by Estimating Norms and Estimating Guides.
  • Enter en masse details of job activities into Primavera 6 (V7.0), apply logic to relationships, add resource requirements to activities and include codes for specific grouping, sorting and filtering.
  • Liaise with Process and Operations personnel to identify shutting-down and starting-up activities and tie-in logic to maintenance window plan.
  • Work with Superintendents and Project engineers to develop work delivery methodologies and construct abilities for all critical and sub-critical work fronts.
  • Facilitate workshops to identify potential problem analysis upon critical work fronts, produce contingency plans and optimise the plan with respective stakeholders.
  • Develop sub-contract scopes of work from the plan to produce tendering documents for all applicable disciplines and re-enter the tender response data.
  • Perform resource leveling and smoothing of histograms within milestone parameters to establish quantity of labour requirements and produce efficient workflow.
  • Production of P10, P50 and P90 plans to determine KPI schedule measures.
  • Establish baseline data for tracking evaluation, utilise milestones to communicate dates of objectives and undertake what-if analysis.
  • Apply supervisor splits to plan and construct 3 day look-a-head reports, create progress s-curves to reflect earned value and to conduct trend analysis.
  • Enter feedback data from supervisors to a provide status update and lead discussions to focus attention to areas of need.
  • Control of emergent reactive work for segregation of reporting.
  • Completion planning reports for client archiving and close-out.
