Engineering maintenance planner, Suncor Energy, Maintenance of Suncor's Base Plant Facilities

  • To keep all facilities, equipment in good working order for longest cost effective life at maximum efficiency, maximizing customer satisfaction by EFFECTIVE PLANNING & SCHEDULING in a SAFE manner.

  • Interfacing with site management, field engineering, supervision, contracts, and procurement, and driving innovative solutions to cost engineering and Planning/scheduling problems with the intent to help execute the maintenance efficiently and effectively.

  • Assist in developing the equipment maintenance program and maintenance plan Understand the resources available from on-site and off-site suppliers for the plan, including equipment, materials, tradesmen, servicemen, labourers and contractors.

  • Managing the work order and maintenance tracking system through the Enterprise One (SAP based database management system) computer software. Maximize the utilization of maintenance resources through the development of an effective maintenance plan.

  • Monitor the actual maintenance activity, comparing the actual progress as compared to plan. Modify the plan to compensate for variations due to availability of resources, actual work completed or additional work required.

  • Prepare, maintain and update job plans for the planned tasks. Ensure equipment servicing is scheduled in accordance to accepted intervals and standards and that servicing is performed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure servicing documents are kept current with all relevant checks listed and that documents are completed in full. Identify safety, communication and permit requirements for the planned tasks. Identify resources required for the planned tasks, such as parts, equipment, materials, special tools, work procedures, external resources and documents.

  • Ensuring resources are ordered or scheduled for the planned work in a timely manner. Reviewing information from oil sample analysis, component operating hour data, mechanic's reports, operating reports and OEM supplier's component supply contracts to propose and schedule component replacements.

  • Advising and supporting the clerical staff with data entry, the backlog work order system, issuing work orders (including service and preventative maintenance work orders) and work order management.

  • Continuous improvement related to all maintenance functions.
