Managed construction and engineering projects since 1956.

Expert knowledge of Primavera, MS Project, statistical methods for risk profiling and analysis, ESM/EVM, stakeholder analysis, wbs and other tools and systems used to manage multi-disciplinary projects.

Introduced in 1980 the on-site use of PC and wrote software to manage manpower scheduling during loop checking and system start-up.

Early interest in EVM on the construction of a new mine shaft in 1970.

Project manager on a combined power-station and desalination plant in 1975; at the time the largest construction project undertaken in Germany.

Managed projects in the oil industry, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and rail industry. Engineering design and management of large building complexes such as airports and hospitals.

Worked in many diverse cultural environments from the ME to Norway and South Africa.

Presently my main interest is in planning, the backbone of project management. Modern planning should take into account the increasing dynamics and rising complexity of modern systems. Subsidiary interest during project execution in ESM and the use of predictive tools to ascertain probable project end dates and costs.
