Financial Planner/Financial Reporter

The Financial Planning and Report Unit is primarily tasked with the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) compilation for the Department, the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements, Cash Flow Management of the Department, monthly financial reporting to Provincial Treasury, and the preparation of other finance related documents which are distributed to relevant stakeholders.

 Duties:

  • Updating, monitoring and maintenance of the Cash Flow Management System.
  • Updating, monitoring and maintenance of the Basic Accounting System.
  • Updating of Annual Financial Statement template.
  • Obtaining of expenditure projections from the various Responsibilities and monitoring their monthly expenditure.
  • Supporting the various Responsibilities in terms of their financial management.
  • The identification and correction of misallocated expenditure.
  • Requesting BAS reports on a monthly basis distribute the reports to the respective responsible managers and Support staff.
  • Supporting the Assistant Manager in the preparation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
  • Supporting the Assistant Manager in the preparation of the requirements for various Portfolio Committees.
  • Reporting in respect of expenditure and revenue, including maintenance of the monthly pack in respect of expenditure and revenue.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Capital purchases for submission to Supply Chain Management.
  • Assist in the capturing of the new financial year’s budget on BAS and internal spreadsheets.
  • Assist with the control of the transfer of (virements, suspensions, function, shifts)
  • The performing of general administrative duties as required.
