Working on a number of construction contracts within the Piers and Infrastructure Development Team at Gatwick Airport, with a combined value of around £30m-£35m. The contracts included upgrades and improvements to the surface water handling systems across the whole of the airport site, and beyond, including some sensitive environmental areas. Another contract was to replace and upgrade the cladding on two bridges which span over Gatwick Rail Station and the last contract was to improve external airside access. All of these contracts required internal and subcontractor programme management using the Gatwick Airport business procedures for forecasting and monitoring through earned value management. Primavera P6 was used to ensure that the team had a live programme of work ahead to enable deadlines to be met successfully. I worked on the Gatwick Airport Q6 Project (future airport development) developing schedules and programmes to ensure that the team met the deadlines set by the CAA regulation timetable and also those deadlines set by the business itself. This involved producing several documents to cover the team activities and the design activities and also to work to develop a construction programme for the project deck identified, working within the tollgate and business processes. It also involved an element of earned value analysis and management and weekly / monthly reporting.
