ONEgas Themed Projects
Junior Planning Engineer (Jun 08 – Jul 10)
My early work for the company was in support of the planning team on the ONEgas Upgrade Project where I gained experience of the oil and gas environment by being directly involved with the day to day running of a successful project that achieved 1000 days Lost Time Incidents (LTI) free whilst exceeding 1.5 million manhours, of which 0.8 million were spent offshore. I have had the responsibility for the successful delivery of a number of schedules, all varied in nature. Examples include a fast moving, constantly updating offshore rig interface schedule covering a number of different offshore locations with numerous jack-up barges. Another being a civils project developing in scope at the Bacton Gas Plant. Due to changes within the company my role became more Project Services orientated with additional responsibilities included managing the onshore timewriting system as well as both the onshore and offshore progress reporting systems whilst ensuring that they aligned. Each of these systems supplied data to the cost and planning departments and enabled all of the associated costs to be recuperated efficiently. I was entrusted with further responsibility by co-ordinating the project change request (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />PCR) process where I instigated efficiency drives to prevent hold ups whilst ensuring that all relevant procedural requirements were met. This involved regular meetings with management and client alike. I also wrote procedures and trained other members of staff in the best practices of successfully delivering this role.
