  • Production of tender enquiry submissions and review of tender comparison forms to be presented to the senior QS for final selection.
  • Authorisation and compilation of NEC3 Engineering and Contract conditions pricing Option A & B subcontracts throughout the duration of the scheme.
  • Chairing prestart meetings with the subcontractor and site team to ensure readiness to execute scope on site.
  • Review of subcontractor insurances to ensure alignment to the complexity of scope to be undertaken and compliance with Costain commercial insurance policy for subcontractors.
  • Valuation of subcontractor application for payment with the mechanical and electrical site team, in order to provide accurate assessment and forecasting.   
  • Management of site level change through the compensation event mechanism and use of a compensation event register to track contract obligations. Typical obligations involved issuing of compensation event notices, assessment and implementation of quotations.
  • Management of subcontractor early warning and administration of early warning register and if required, attendance of risk reduction meetings to mitigate the issue.
  • Mentoring of a trainee quantity surveyor including informal review of PDR to align her overall yearly objectives with her current workload and academic-related reviews.
  • Production of subcontract final accounts, settlement agreements, and re-alignment of interim final accounts to meet project controls deadlines.
