Planning Manager, Larsen & Toubro Limited (Water Technology International Business Unit), Doha South Sewage Treatment Works; Phase 2 Expansion Project (cost more than $200 Millions)

L&T-GALFAR Consortium were awarded with Doha South Sewage Treatment Works; Phase 2 Expansion Project undertaken by Employer Public Works Authority (alias ASHGHAL), Govt. of Qatar, to construct a new Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR Plant) to ramp up the combined secondary treatment capacity to 200 MLD (ADWF) from 90 MLD - setting up new Ultrafiltration unit for the 1st time in the Middle East region in the largest capacity to treat municipal sewage (Project Value USD 200 million)

·   In Client-facing role as consortium Planning Manager, led the contract stage - Project Planning, Scheduling and Performance Reporting activities in collaboration with PMCM Consulting Engineering (KEO)

·   Developed post award planning and controls package; cost and resource loaded Schedule Baseline with an excess of 5,000-line activities using Primavera (P6 version 7) software and various other project control curves and histograms

·   Carried out periodic updates of approved Schedule Baseline in aid of P6 Web Access (EPPM R.7); first of its kind introduced in Public Works Authority (PWA) - implemented as a “Pilot Project” in Doha, Qatar. 

·   Set and laid out work plan targets; reviewed, analysed and commented on nominated Engineering Subcontractors (CH2M formerly; HALCROW Consulting Engineers) program updates; incorporated the updates into the integrated master schedule (IMS).

·   Monitored the schedule progress, compared actual performance against the plan or forecast; identify shortfalls and reasons, reported any areas of concern to the Project Management team on potential issues that could have adverse impact on project health.

·   Prepared recovery programme and revised baseline programme; cost and resource loaded work schedule.

·   Accountable for preparation of multiple reports (monthly progress, delay and variance analysis) for management; performance reports for Employer’s Monthly Progress Review Meeting.

·   Prepared Extension of Time (EOT) of the project - identified issues which affected progress of work, performed Baseline Schedule delay analysis (used prospective and retrospective methods) through TIA and Window/Time-slice Analysis model, demonstrated employer delay events to establish the entitlement of additional time and prolongation cost claim for delay periods.

·   Developed ‘Cause and Effect Analysis’ for disruption claims and wrote narratives which demonstrates the Contractor’s entitlement.

·   Prepared several Variation proposals for additional works, reviewed various Subcontractor’s Claims related to progress of works.

·   Tracked correspondence, various engineering and procurement submittals, MOM, site instructions, invoices and payment requisition; using Primavera Contract Manager (PCM) and generated various other project reports.
