Jul.9 – Aug.9        Tender:     Hammersmith Station Platform Extensions                  (£4M)

I worked as part of a tender team putting together a bid for the above project. The project consisted of demolishing the existing Ticket hall, converting an existing ‘Pub’ into office suite including new ticket office for the station staff installing new gatelines, relocation of numerous station Communication and Electrical Equipment, and extension of  3 no existing platforms. Form of Contract NEC Option A.

Key responsibilities included evaluating scope of work, producing outline programmes for sub-contract enquiries, identifying risks and opportunities with project, assessing construction methods that don’t interfere with the operation of the station and developing a detailed construction programme. The programme was produced complete with resources and cost profiles.

The Tender was successfully won in Oct.09

Aug.9 – Sep.9      Tender:     EDFE Sub-station Refurbishment x 21 locations        (£8M).

The Project consisted of providing sub-stations for EDFE at 21 locations on the LUL Network. The projects varied from 2 no new buildings 50m by 25m at Farringdon and Triangle Sidings (Gloucester Road) to refurbishment of existing sub-stations. Form of Contract NEC. Option C

Responsibilities were similar to those mentioned above.

We were short listed to one of three preferred bidders at time of departure.

Aug.9 – Oct.9       Tender:     Hammersmith & City Line Platform Strengthening/Extensions x 6

                                                  Locations.

This project was similar to the Hammersmith Tender above but with a reduced scope of works at each location. However 2 no Stations required strengthening with steel support columns. At one location, Latimer Road, the existing platforms had to be completely stripped, new steel beams installed and new platform surfaces installed.

At time of departure, the Client TFL commented on the quality of our submission.
