National Grid – Lead Assurance Planner

Responsible for the assurance of both internal National Grid programmes and Contractors programmes from the development phase through to the tendering and contract award phase of the projects life.

During the development phase, interfacing with Project Engineers, Development Engineers and Cost Engineers to ensure that developed programmes are deliverable, within governance set by National Grid and suitable for capturing contractor’s progress and Earned Value reporting.

Accountable for the acceptance of the baselined internal programme ensuring key dates and scheme budget values match sanction papers approved during development.

Working closely with National Grid’s Commercial and Procurement departments to assure contractors programmes during tender events and to provide feedback and final assessment scoring. Ensuring accepted programmes are suitable for baseline purposes conforming to National Grid’s project control policies and procedures and suitability for month end reporting.

Liaising with the wider Programme Assurance team and conveying the latest view of future work load, reporting of any delays, issues and contract awards in their respective regions.

Challenge contractor compensation events to enable true delay impact analysis and mitigations.
