LOLER Focal Point, Self, Balmoral FPV North Sea

START Date:
August, 2016

Hi my name is Lee Gibson. I've always worked in the construction industry (petro chemicle and oil and gas) as a Steel erector and Rigger. In 2006 I was diagnosed with Mutiple Sclerosis wich was ok until 2011 when my started to struggle with my mobility. At the time I was working offshore with a great bunch of guys who helped me with my struggles. I went into the planning of lifts and jobs, until 2016 when it became unsafe for me to work offshore with helicopters and the likes.

2016 I went back to a company I used to work for, on a new build Bio-Mass plant. I was given the job of managing the installation of 124 tons of Ducting that was fabricated out of 4-6mm rolled steel. All conections where welded and the Job ran from Febuary til September.

On this Job I planned all the works using MSPP although I was never tought how to use the softwhere. After the Job was complete I decided due to my health issues I would try to reinvent my self to become a planner as its more office based.

I have since completed a Primavera P6 professional course and enjoy the planning side off things.

Planning is the career I would like follow.

My mobility problems are as follows. I can walk, claim stairs, drive maybe a bit slower than someone who's fully mobile. Just climbing around on steel is to much for me now, hence need to follow a new career path.
