Bexhill to Hastings Link Road – Section Manager

Major Early Contractor Involvement and design & build highways scheme comprising 5.6km single-carriageway link road between Bexhill and Hastings for East Sussex County Council. Undertaken within in a sensitive greenfield/urban context, with six overbridges and seven underbridges (including river and rail crossings). Technical challenges include substantial ground improvement and landscaping over a floodplain, soil nailing to embankment and substantial environmental mitigation.

Ben was responsible for drainage (pump station, attenuation and main line), vehicle restraint, traffic signals, traffic management, fencing (acoustic, boundary, accommodation, reptile), traffic signs, street lighting and badger tunnels.
