Professional summary: Over 30 years’ experience of working within engineering industry, consisting of: 20 years’ experience of Cost Control and Project Planning combined with experience of using software such as Open Plan, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 and SureTrak provides a depth of knowledge that can be drawn on when planning projects. Experience of gaining and maintaining good relationships with clients and contractors alike, has helped to build trust and understanding during project delivery. Amec Foster Wheeler

Lead Planning Engineer, Essar, Project Tiger Cub, BOD Definition Stage (2015) BoD definition phase for an EPC project to revamp units at the Stanlow refinery leading up to turnaround work in the shutdown period in early 2018. Set up the detailed schedules for this project along with a simplified progress measurement system based on the earned values derived from the resourced schedule. Currently working on the EPC schedule in discussion with the client.

Lead Planning Engineer, GDF Suez – Cameroon LNG FEED (2015) Assigned to lead the planning of this project for initial set up. Responsible for the early schedule definition and set up of the progress measurement system. Contractual requirements necessitated creation of the 90 day schedule within one week of Effective Date and, the Level 1 Schedule, rolled up from the Level 3 P6 schedule, within 4 weeks of Effective Date. Work was allocated to CTRs and the schedule was resource loaded to match the CTR budgets.

Lead Planning Engineer, Chemaweyaat – Tacaamol Aromatics Project – PMC (2014-2015) Called in to assist with the bid review process on this project for a few months. This involved analysis of the bidders schedules, bidder scoring and answering of bidders queries for both the Aromatics and O&U sections of this project,

Lead Planning Engineer, Shell - First Commercial Product – Operational Readiness & Assurance (2014) Development of the ORA schedule according to Shell’s standard structures and requirements. The schedule helped define the scope of work and was resource loaded and levelled in order to demonstrate the level of support available to deliver the scope. Support entailed visits to Shell’s offices in Dubai and conference calls to develop the schedule using Live Meeting.

Lead Planning Engineer, Shell - First Commercial Product – E&P Services Contract (2014) Supervision of the planning team for the Sweet Gas fast track project in the Majnoon oil field in Iraq that aimed to deliver the first product about 12 months after the start of engineering. The fast track nature of the project necessitated the rapid progressing of engineering on the basis of assumptions and sketches in order to meet the deadlines for construction so flexibility in the way Primavera was used to plan and control this project was essential.

Lead Planning Engineer, Sadara (Saudi Aramco / Dow) Packaging Centre – EPC (2013) Supervision of planning team to control Engineering and Procurement phase of project to deliver packaging centre for solid and liquid polyethylene as part of the Jubail 2 Petro-Chemical Complex. Schedule support included regular site meetings with clients and main contractors and web planning meetings with key suppliers.

Lead Planning Engineer, KNPC – PMC (2012 – 2013) Project set up including Project Strategy, FEED schedule, Work Breakdown Structure and Organisation Charts for Client approval.

Lead Planning Engineer, 2Co – Don Valley Power Project – PMC (2011 – 2012) Planning of PMC deliverables through Pre-FEED phase and management of contractor’s delivery through the FEED phase. Regular schedule update meetings with client to discuss the overall Programme Schedule used to co-ordinate multiple sub-contractors, progress on associated projects and detailed client work scope though FEED and EPC phases to planned completion in 2016. Role included some PCM co-ordination activities as PM and PCM were located in client office remote from main Engineering office.

Lead Planning Engineer, Proposal and Study Support (2010 – 2011) Production of schedules, schedule narratives, execution plans, manpower plans etc for a variety of proposals and studies including Floating LNG vessels, upstream gas extraction and distribution, modularised LNG plant and grass roots refineries.

Senior Planning Engineer, NSRP – EPC Contractors Bid Evaluation (2010) Evaluation of EPC Contractors schedules and method statements on behalf of the client.

Senior Planning Engineer, Woodside – Pluto T2 & T3 FEED (2009 – 2010) Responsible for the creation and management of a system for auto roll up of Earned Value progress data from the Document Management System to Primavera P6, in order to comply with Client reporting requirements. Responsible for all planning, controlling and progress reporting on the FEED stage.

Senior Planning Engineer, Exxon-Mobil – Singapore Parallel Train - EPC – (Utilities) (2007 – 2009) Responsible for detailed planning of the Utilities part of this multi-billion US Dollar project. Monitoring, analysing and reporting on project progress, slippage mitigation, ‘what if’ analysis and risk analysis were all methods employed to deliver this challenging project. Took over leadership of the Planning team and supervised the production of weekly reporting on closeout of the Engineering phase of the project to Client and Senior Management.

Senior Planning Engineer, EPCL - Naptha Hydro Treater Reformer EPC Project (2007) Responsible for production of reports on isometric production and weekly reports on civil drawings production. These reports were published on a weekly basis to the project team. Production of graphs, for the monthly project report, which plotted the progress of the delivery of main equipment and bulks to site. Information for the graphs was compiled, processed and partly automated using Access and Excel. Responsible for updating sections of the level 3 programme in P3 and updating sections of the level 2 programme in Milestones. The heavy lift schedule was updated and published from Microsoft Project.

Thames Water

Performance & Development Consultant (2004 – 2007) Senior consultant, leading a team of 6, on statistical work to identify patterns and analyse trends in the way that Thames Water delivered their capital programme. (approx. £3.1billion over 5 years) Work involved consulting with project teams and contractors to understand the identified patterns in performance and identify possible areas for improvement. Controlled an efficiency programme within Engineering and Asset Management, keeping track of progress and forecasting the resulting financial benefit.

Project/Programme Controller (6 different positions) (1995 – 2004) Team Leader of a team of Cost & Planning Controllers - Promoted to team leader position. Work involved setting of general targets for function and individual targets for team. Continued development of the Non Regulated, External Business reporting and control process by creating more efficient working methods within the team. Control of multi million pound projects from concept stage to completion. Project management of selected projects. Arranged new systems, which reshaped the methods used by the whole Project Control team, thus improving efficiency. Responsible for tracking and adjusting programme, financial progress and resources with the use of PC based project planning tools to ensure take-over dates and target costs are achieved on a suite of projects worth approx. £39m per annum.
