Ms. / Mr. Manager, Director of Human Resources

Dear Manager,

While visiting some HR companies websites I came across with the vacancy post announced with the open positions. As soon as I read it, I decided to contact you since the announcement seemed quite attractive for me. It is mentioned that you are looking for an employee that have experiences identical to mine. At the moment, I’m working in Iran as a Project Controls Manager in Oil Industries Engineering & Construction Company (OIEC & OICO) which has already undertaken South Pars Gas Field Development Project, Phase 17&18 and Phase 20&21 as an EPCCS contractor. I was in the United States of America throughout 1 year to improve my English and to attend a Project Management certification programme containing cost, time, resource, scope, quality, risk and communication management in PMI. I had worked in several and different construction projects in the both abroad and Turkey before my current project. You can find more detailed information about my experiences and my personal characteristics in my attached CV. I would like to continue my carrier in the Middle East or Asia. I believe that working in your company will be a privilege for me and will contribute to my career a lot. In this context, I would like to work in your projects in the Middle East, Asia or in the headquarters of the company.

My specialization in civil engineering is “Construction Management”. Therefore, as stated in my CV, I have a concrete knowledge of project budget and cash flow preparation and working according to the schedules. Besides, my workspace provided me with a first hand experience in methodologies of planning in the construction projects. I have prepared project budget, cash flow, checks for estimated costs, schedule, and analysis and the distribution of enquiry documents given by the client for several different projects for Metis Construction and Trade CO.INC – ABB Germany JV. and Enka Construction and Industry CO.INC. – Bechtel Corporation JV. in Turkey, Libya, Romania, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Iran. On the other hand, I have knowledge Shell, PDO, Aramco, BS, ASME and DIN standards. I believe that all these can be counted as valuable assets in the “Planning Director, Project Controls Manager, Commercial Manager, Contract Manager, Site Manager, Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager” jobs.

Analyzing my CV, you may see the evidences for what is written above. Consequently, I feel that I can contribute to your company at the same time working in your company can provide new experiences to me. Nonetheless, I believe that this two-sided contribution can be more solid if I can get an opportunity to work in your company. Firstly, being a Turkish, I can be a valuable employee in the International Projects Division especially for the Asian projects since I may understand the nature of those projects due to the similarities between the cultures. Secondly, as an engineer who has had an experience 15 yearly in several departments, especially project controls department, since graduation, I may provide your company with the latest information in the market.

All in all, I hold my academic and professional career to be a fulfilling Planning Director, Project Controls Manager, Commercial Manager, Contract Manager, Site Manager, Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager. If you would like to know more about me I would appreciate an interview with you. You may use “burakakin2002@yahoo.com.tr” to arrange an appointment.

Sincerely,

Burak Akin
