I understand how to establish and communicate the time and other Project Controls related aspects of a project appropriately.  I am able to fulfill and help others to fulfil the time related requiements of sucessful delivery at each stage of a project.

Over 25 years, 8 of which were spent overseas, I have worked on each stage of a Project.  I have been involved at a senior level in major multi billion pound rail and development projects, working with Clients, Contractors and Project Managers on civil engineering, rail, and major software upgrades.  I have worked on many contruction claims as well as insurance claims for Insurers and Claimants.  I have worked as a Planner, Planning Manager, Head of Planning, Project Controls Manager, Senior Project Manager and Project Director.

I have generated a wide variety of programmes using Primavera (P5, P3e, P3), MS Project (numerous versions), Suretrack, PowerProject, OpenPlan (including development of the software), Atermis, Pertmaster, Excel, Monte Carlo, Primavera Rsk Analysis, Chainlink as well as drawing programmes, updates and claims by hand during my training

These programmes include tender programmes, construction programmes (under JCT, FIDIC, NEC (1 & 3), ICE Ed 7 contracts), commissioning programmes, operational readiness programmes (for both phases of HS1), claims and recovery programmes for Contractors, Project Managers, Clients, Insurance Loss adjustors, Sub Contractors.  Generally these are fully logic linked networks often loaded with costs and resources.  I have summarised the programmes and updates of others in a live environment, produced and managed live integrated programmes in a single database and seprately using check in check out or e-mail.  I have written and signed off procedures and guide notes and manuals on Planning as well as Project Controls and contributed to and signed off Project Management Plans.

I have managed directly and indirectly (functionally) Planners (up to 23 in number), Commercial and Risk staff, as well as running a 43 strong full Project Management team.  I am equally at home working as the sole providor of a planning service.

I understand that Planning and Project Controls are very much part of a team and that effective all round communication and the timely application of expert knowledge is what leads to succesful and satisfactory completion of that role.
