Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dropline a simply a vertical line drawn on data date or current date when the progress is updated. Depending on whether the activity is ahead or behind the plan, this line will have dog-legged lags forward or behind. This is very simple way of repesenting progress and obviously quite good on wall chart etc. (Of course you can do it in computer as well).

The other variety of programme in this context will be reschedule programme where the data-date line is always vertical. Those activities progressing ahead of schedule will indeed be seen to complete sooner and those lagging behind will be seen to get completed late.
