Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have just undertaken the 3 day basic P3e course (102)to underpin my project management skills/also useful for future contract work.

I use MS project for developing working programmes which I pass onto my planner for input into P3e, since I do not have P3e at work (limited licences) I was thinking of buying Primavera Contractor in order to use for developing my programmes (also keen to develop my planning skills)

Since the full P3e enterprise package would be over the top, I have been steered towards the contractor package and the deluxe contractor package.

Can anyone advise, which package will be best?

Thanks for your reply, yesterday I ordered one of your books from Amazon, planning & scheduling using primavera p3e version 5 (engineering & construction). This will help me learn/develop my knowledge of primavera.

I have now bought Primavera contractor and although your book will relate to p3e C&E, I am sure it will help especially if I decide to take the advanced p3e course laterand then try to get work within the planning field.

The biggest issue you will face is the restrition in the number of activities. I understand it is 750 for Contractor and 2000 for Delux!

There are a number of import issues which people need to understand before they import a schedule.
