Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear PPer’s,

The Planning Engineers Organisation (PEO) has just launched a software survey which covers not just the popularity of each product, but also in which country and in which industry.

If you have a minute to spare and want to vote for your favourite, visit the Planning Engineers Organisation website and using the menu system, go to "Software" and then "Survey".

The first results will be published in late September.

Regards.

Hi Gary,

Same with Sig, I also wonder why P3 was combined with P3e/ ec.

There is and will alway be a big discussion on the difference between the two.

How about running a new survey for P3 version 3.1 vs P3 e e/c.

Cheers,

Charlie

Hi Gary,

Why is Primavera P3 combined with Primavera 5.0? Is primavera p3 refers to P3 3.1 and below meaning is it P3 1.0 to P3 3.1?I understand Primavera 5.0 has the same environment as P3ec. I think it’s more correct to combine P3ec and P3 5.0.

Just an observation.

Cheers,

Se

Dear PPer’s

Whilst the voting in the PEO software survey has only been available for a week, I think that you will find the early results interesting. I know that the numbers of votes cast are still relatively low, but here are some facts from the early results……

- The most used top 4 packages are used by about 80% of all planners / schedulers
- Across all industries and countries, Primavera P3 / Primavera 5.0 is the most used package
- Across all industries and countries, PowerProject / TeamPlan is the second most used package
- Within the US, the Primavera packages are the most used
- Within the UK, Powerproject / Teamplan is the most used
- Within Australia, Primavera has the edge with the most used, with Micro Planner X-Pert coming in a close second
- Within the petrochem industry, Primavera is the most used
- Within the building construction industry, Powerproject / Teamplan is the most used
- Expert Witnesses / Delay analysis experts prefer the Primavera packages

For the full range of results, sorted by industry or country, or a combination of both, see the PEO website.

Mr. France,

If I may suggest, I think you need to change the name from PEO to OPE...

OPE, if you add n & It’s free (sounds good & apt).

PEO, if you add n & even if it’s free (good but not appropriate)

just an honest & humble opinion if I may. (HHO)

Stacy,

Thanks for your kind words.

The first results of the survey will be published on the PEO website tomorrow. I have had a sneak preview and they are very interesting, especially when comparing what software is used in different industries and in different countries.

Several Planning organizations and forums were established but there is no doubt that this Planning Planet is still No.1 due to its members diligent contribution.

Hi Gary,

What is PEO. I did read the site and it looks like difficult to be a member.

There must be something great with PEO.

Can PEO ever become like Planning Planet. At present I find Planning Planet the greatest. And i hope it will continue for the next century.

Cheers,

Charlie
