Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Morning all,

I have a portfolio of work with links to a contractors projects, unfortunately however they have changed their project number so my links no longer work.  As I have 100 projects with such links I want to check which have been affected and which haven't so I can update them with the new project ID number.  However I can't seem to see a way of getting P6 to show me either in a column view or via a report the preceding activities project ID only the activity number.

Does anyone know how I get P6 to show me this information to save me going through each activity with links to see where it's linked to?

Thanks

Thom

here are your options

option #1

while in the relationship tab either in the predecessor window or the successor window you can add the project id as a column right click and select customize predecessor columns or customize successor columns and from the Available Options on the left expand the General category and select Project ID.

Option  #2

Also you can export the relationships to excel and the relationships will have the associated Project ID number.

So export the relationships prior to the changes then export the relationships after the changes and do a Vlookup in excel and see what has changed.

Option #3

Just change the project number back to what it originally was.
