Sr. Planning & Cost Engineer, April 2011 – Present

  • Working with ASHGHAL’s (Public Works Authority of Qatar) Engineering Business Support Department (EBSD) as Sr. Planning / Costing Engineer on a secondment basis. I am involved in Planning / Scheduling and Monitoring of various portfolio of Projects/Program, which consists of around 800 projects. 
  • Played key role in the establishment of Award winning Capital Projects Request Management System ‘MOAZANAH’ for Public Works Authority of Qatar.
  • Coordinate with Budget Requesters and various stakeholders to establish appropriate Annual Capital & Non Capital projects Budget during the Budget Preparation period of the year.
  • Coordinate with Tender Committees to update Projects Tender progress. Closely Monitor the processes from projects initiation until the projects are committed with respect to approved Budget plan from Ministry of Finance and Report to various stakeholders on a monthly basis for their information and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Finance Department to update the financial data of the project such as actual Award Value, Commitment Value, Actual Expenditure and generate KPI reports and forward to stakeholders for their information and corrective actions.
  • Played key role in the establishment of ‘Ashghal Projects Monitoring & Control Dashboard’ and many other effective systems established and being established by EBSD.
  • Support Projects Follow-up Planning Team and make sure to reflect the actual progress status and various projects monitoring data on the Dashboard on monthly basis for Sr. Managements corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with various departments of ‘Ashghal’ to collect projects PWA staff allocations and update in P6 Manpower Portfolio to track and control ‘Ashghal’ staff allocations on monthly basis.
  • Support Qatar’s Statistics Committee with the forecast of major materials requirement for all projects undertaken by Ashghal inline with the latest programme on periodic basis.
  • Estimation of EBSD Planning and QS staff requirements from time to time in line with total number of projects under ‘Ashghal’ during such time.
  • Working on various modules, research and continual developments.
  • I have been a member of various Objective groups within ‘Ashghal’ and I am playing an active role in the continual improvement of various processes followed by EBSD.
