Over 15 years experience in providing Project Controls and Contracts Management support on multi-discipline EPCMV projects for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, microelectronics, and energy industries. 

 

 

Project Controls Management

Management of teams of project controls and commercial professionals.

Providing a high level of quality control in all aspects of project control and procurement activities, including preparation for and achievement of ISO 9001 awards. Development of in-house Standard Operating Procedures and best practices for Project Controls, Purchasing, Expediting, Contracts Administration and Selection and Pre-Qualification of Vendors and Contractors.

Interfacing effectively with senior management, ensuring that appropriate project control information is disseminated between relevant team members in a timely, accurate, regular manner.

 

Contracts Management

Development of appropriate contract strategies, challenging project design & construction plans to ensure that they are achievable with particularly emphasis on buildability.

Full Pre & Post – Tender Contracts Support incorporating development of approved tender lists (incorporating formal contractor pre-qualification), tender document development, award process and post-contractual commercial management.

Coordinating the development and timely issuing of tender packages with engineering and quantity surveying professionals for all disciplines including Civil/Building, Mechanical. Electrical, Fire Protection, HVAC and turnkey packages.

Development of bills of quantities for mechanical and electrical works.

 

Planning and Scheduling 

Development of resource loaded project schedules, using both Primavera and MS Project planning software, in conjunction with Design / CM teams, from Level I to Level IV as required. Ensuring that the project critical path is established early and progress monitored effectively.

Chairing interactive planning meetings to facilitate the preparation of integrated project schedules, highlighting key constraints and major issues, which may impact successful project execution and ensuring full team buy in to project plan.

Progress measurement and reporting on earned values, providing accurate forecasting of change (potential/actual) and ensured that management are aware of potential issues early.

Preparation of project reports, including Risk Identification & Analysis, Baseline Progress Comparisons & Updates, Progress S-Curves, Earned Value Progress Reporting, Resource Histograms and other Bespoke reports.

Estimating

Preparation of estimates for an array of projects including the implementation of estimate plans, determination of appropriate type (accuracy) of estimate based on current level of information.

Maintenance of best current estimating data and implement standard formats for estimate presentation.

 

Cost Engineering / Change Control        

Pro-active approach to identifying and tracking all potential variations to project scope, budget and schedule.

Implementing change control mechanisms to ensure timely notification to project management key changes to project scope.

Preparation and maintenance of Cost Reports, Home Office Project Status Reports, Forecast Variance Reports, Cost Trend Reports, change order register and margin analysis.
