Contracts Manager and Planner

I managed the construction of a 40000m2 industrial complex that was constructed to house component suppliers to Daimler Chrysler for the C-Class Mercedes Benz. The project involved the construction of 10 industrial units which were connected to a central distribution corridor. The first four buildings had to be handed over for tenant installation within 4 months of commencement on site.

In order to achieve the extremely tight schedule the project was divided into two areas and these wre in turn divided according to size so that we could construct all areas simultaneously. At the peak of the project we had 3 structural steel fabricators on site with 5 erection teams so that they could achieve an erection sequence of 12 tons per day for each team. concrete was site batched with 4 dedicated 10m3 mixer trucks to ensure the shortest cycle time.

At the peak the project employed more than 1000 people and we achieved more than 1million injury free hours. The project achieved a certificate for commitment to Safety and the Environment.

The first phase of this project was so successful that the client negotiated the following 4 phases with us and I continued to manage the project through all the phases.
