January 2009 – May 2011 - P6 Planner – Carillion Rail – Signalling, Power and Coms

Based in Crewe and London.  Carillion has over 40,000 employees and an order book over £10bn

  1. Working with the Resource & Planning Manager for the SP&C Group within Carillion, producing and updating P6 (Primavera) Project plans using various planning tools
  2. Working on the North London Line Improvement project, updating the project integrated programme on P3e, producing Racecards, ACDs and Box Plans and attending PDR Meetings for my discipline
  3. Working at New Kings Beam House for the GE Project, Allocations 1, 2 & 4, updating the P6 programme, producing hourly programmes for amber worksites, using Pertmaster for assessment of hourly programmes.
  4. Producing Construction Reports and attending wash up meetings with the team and the client and updating the planned construction reports to issue formally to the client.
  5. Producing Supervisors Site Diaries for the construction Team.
  6. Working to control the costs for the project with the commercial team and producing Earned value curves for the client.
  7. Creating and updating the T-18 Forecasting planning document to help the team plan the work for the next 18 weeks.
  8. Producing RIMINI requests for the Power and OLE Sections of the project.
  9. Working on all aspects of resource planning
  10. Progressing project plans during tender, design and construction phases from various members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  11. Working with the Resource Planning Manager with tender preparation.
  12. Liaising with clients, contractors and third parties on various matters.
  13. Raising appropriate issues with colleagues and being a proactive member of the SP&C Orgainisation.
  14. Using programmes to assist the Resource & Planning Manager, including PPS, Aspen Diagrams, NESA, PCCF, Green Zone Planner.

    Main Achievements

    1. Created and established resource monitoring system
    2. Creating a competence matrix to show availability of different competencies.
    3. Taking on more roles than a standard planning role, making myself available to job diversification.
    4. Running my own Work Packages on the North London Line Improvement Project heading towards completion
    5. Setting up systems to streamline the running of the planning team for the GE Project.
