Ore Valley was one of only seven Millennium Community projects identified by the then Office of the Deputy Prime Minister designed as a means of providing best practice sustainable urban housing developments. The Ore Valley Millennium Community Development (£19Million) site was designed to provide 650 new homes and seed the regeneration of a recognised deprived area of the United Kingdom. Developed from a project specific Urban Design Code, Buro Happold provided detailed infrastructure and highways design as well as the critical elements for the planning application including the Environment and Design Statements.

John was responsible for Buro Happold involvement and contract deliverables as well as overseeing and coordinating technical input into the Outline Planning Applications from projects sub-consultants and stakeholders. This included the management of preliminary and detailed design as well as the implementation of the enabling works packages. As well as a requirement to plan and host regular Design and Progress meetings with the Project Management team to update on the status of the project.
