I worked as a Planning and Resourcing Manager working on a MoD PFI Project in Wiltshire. The value is circa £100m and my work is to programme in detail the area of work I am responsible for. Once converted to a live project upon Financial Close my role will then be to monitor the progress the work with my remit. This will involve monthly reporting to my immediate line manager and also to the team as a whole so as to keep the project focused on target finishing dates throughout the projects duration. Working for Laing O’Rourke’s Construction South Division I was the Planning and Resourcing Manager on a tender for a £60m hotel project in Southampton. In this role I was to put detail to an overall programme that had been produced at the first stage and work with the commercial team to price the project. Due to the financial constraints of the project the role also meant involvement in the value engineering side of the bid to try and establish a more efficient method of building.
