1984  -  1986   :  Position  -  Site Manager (Building Construction)

Reporting to a Main Board Director and controlling a management team of two general foremen, two site engineers, office based planner, and two quantity surveyors, I was responsible for the running of a Training Centre valued at £1M, Bophuthatswana.  Contract awarded after lengthy negotiation with local Government agencies.

I was involved additonally on contract works in an engineering capacity on an Administration Office Block, and a Main Headoffice complex, in Bophuthatswana

1982  -  1984  :  Position  -  Section Agent (Civil Eng.)

Reporting to a Main Board Director, I was responsible for a major section of a very heavy civils construction of a new cement factory valued at £40 million in the Southern Cape, South Africa.  My section was valued at approximately £5 million. 

In addition to managing my own section, I was later made responsible for the co-ordination of the major subcontractors for steel fixing and earthworks for the entire site of six sections.

My section team was made up of a general foreman, three foremen, four engineers, and a junior quantity surveyor.  I was also responsible for construction programming, material take-off and orders through the project buyer.

1981-1982 :  Site engineer on the new Ellis Park rugby stadium  in Johannesburg, South Africa.
