Senior Planner (Building) (Head Office Based), Taylor Woodrow International, All Regional Projects

Responsible for the preparation and presentation to the Board of Directors and potential Clients both building and civil tenders primarily in the international market. I have prepared tenders for projects located primarily in Russia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and to a lesser extent in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Beirut. Trips to some locations overseas were required to more unfamiliar territories to Taylor Woodrow to assess local market conditions and planning logistics. Tenders for Hong Kong projects were prepared in Hong Kong. In addition, preparation of a major PFI hospital project in the UK.

Planning presentations included fully resourced programmes, method statements, qualifications, site establishment/temporary works layouts, fully detailed staff and plant schedules, falsework and access requirements, risk assessments.

Project value worked on varied from £30M (million pounds) to £185M.

PROJECTS INCLUDE : -

  • Lee On Road, Hong Kong - 8No. 40 Storey Residential Tower Blocks, 3 podium levels, Retail area - Value £185M Design & Build. 28 month programme to Design & Build 8No. 40 storey residential tower blocks on Hong Kong Island. Tendered in Hong Kong with Chinese JV partner Hsin Chong.
  • This project was won and commenced in January 1999.
  • My role - Lead Joint Venture tender and works planner

 

  • BromleyHospitalTrust PFI - Project value £120 million. Preparations of programme, method statement and primary construction preliminaries of the bid prior to financial close. This project was won and commenced November 1998.
  • My role - PFI Senior Tender / Construction Planner.

 

  • MoscowRail Terminal, Offices & Hotel, St. Petersburg, Russia - Value £156M
  • Tendered in London with JV partner Skanska.
  • This 42 month project was won and started in late 1997.
  • My role - Lead Joint Venture tender and works planner.

 

  • QQDC Claim - Defence of £15 million claim from subcontractors on apartment complex in Gibraltar. Role: Delay analysis planner
  • Hadeed Steelworks, Jubail, Saudi Arabia - Value £50M
  • Heavy civil works facility to house high load steelwork making process equipment.
