Senior Baggage Planning Consultant, EC Harris UK, Baggage Voids Refurbishment / Pier 5 Re-Modernisation / NOOG & TOOG Replacement Projects

All these projects revolved around either complete Aeroplane Taxi Apron civil breakout and re-enforcement of high load precast concrete units that formed the aircraft loading and standing structures. Extensive buried services radar scanning and excavation of contaminated grounds work. Any Drainage capacity increase required through means of using Underground Mole boring machines in conjunction with access pits. Conveyor Systems & Scanner X-Ray installations or refurbishing existing conveyor baggage systems, Building architecture, M&E works as well as including all ancillary Scanners/Vertical Sorters/Nerak Lifts throughout London Gatwick Airport. In relation to Pier 5, it involved supervision and delivery of the Phase 2 works construction programme by working closely with the relevant contractors through the our nominated PC and integrating all associated parties. The cumulative value for these projects where in excess of £100 Million.

  • Developed & Managed Gatwick Master Programmes & Provide cover to Planning Manager role as required.
  • Progress & Update monthly schedules in relation to contractor progress.
  • Build & Develop the Contracts & Procurement elements associated with these works in the schedule.
  • Increased Acceptance of Contractual Programme Submissions to 96%.
  • Coordinated & managed multiple contractors planning inputs & Outside 3rd parties in order to deliver an Achievable and Realistic Pier 5 - Phase 2 Construction Programme.
  • Monthly reporting of Earned Value SPI & CPI.
  • Steered Mitigation planning meetings & discussions to assist in delivering schedule to key Contract Dates or Triggers
  • Reduced project costs by circa £1 Million by ensuring contractor’s programmes minimised impact to Airline Passenger Operations and prevented disruptive impacts to Airport Baggage Operations
  • Monthly reporting of project Commercial progress for Project Controls reporting to client.
