Impregilo, a major Italian construction company specializing in the construction of complex infrastructure projects, led the joint venture for the construction of 1450 megawatt Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project involving construction of 53 km Power Channel and Barrage.

 

Job Profile & Major Achievements:

Managed a team of claim specialists and engineers involved in the development of a variety of extension of time (EOT) and delay cost claims for the two civil contracts valued at US$600 million. Generated claims in accordance with FIDIC conditions of contract.

 

Critically reviewed EOT and delay cost claims completed by claim specialists for accuracy, clarity and potential weaknesses in terms of contractual entitlement.

 

Assisted the preparation of several variation orders such as new price for deepening of concrete cutoff walls for Barrage structure. Involved in the preparation and defense of Unforeseen Ground Conditions and Engineer’s Design Changes claims.

 

Liaised with Engineer’s representatives regarding defense of submitted claims, attended meetings and presented detailed contractual arguments and forensic evidence.

 

Thoroughly reviewed tender drawings, construction drawings and shop drawings in order to identify design changes, and communicated with site management to collect evidence in support of the related delay claims.

 

Assisted the preparation of requests for Engineer’s Decision, submissions for Dispute Review Board and Arbitration. Prepared counter arguments and carried out detailed forensic investigation in support of claims.

 

Assisted the preparation of impacted as-planned and collapsed as-built schedules using Primavera P3. Coordinated with delay analysts to provide them with further evidence in support of EOT entitlement.

 

Calculated the landed cost of construction equipment and other fixed asset for use in delay cost claims.
