I would like to recommend Chris Carson as Founding Fellow for the International Guild of Project Controls.

I have known Chris for more than 10 years, when he and I were teamed to work on what eventually become the Scheduling Excellence Initiative. Chris’s efforts were unflagging on the committee, from the early days until the actual publishing last year, while many, many others (myself included) fell by the wayside. It’s clear to me that from start to finish Chris was the driver – if it wasn’t for Chris the document would never have been finished. I know there are others that deserve significant credit, but only Chris was there beginning to end.

And that’s just the SEI efforts. Chris is also very active in AACEI – he writes, he presents, and he is a tireless volunteer. Chris has also taught seminars and webinars for CMAA – he’s always prepared, and always interesting – years of experience give him “war” stories for almost every talking point.

The thing that most impresses me is his willingness to give back – the amount of time that he spends volunteering for these organizations, writing papers, developing and presenting seminars and webinars, preparing in-house training standards and statistics. I frankly can’t think of enough to say about Chris professionally and personally.
