Lionel van Rensburg

First Name:
Lionel
Last Name:
van Rensburg
I was born in a construction family, both my brothers and my father was in construction. I started working on construction sites since the age of 13 years (during school holidays to earn some pocket money) I have been in construction ever since. Due to the fact that I started at the bottom and worked myself up, I have a very good feel for planning Projects. I know what the job entails because I have actually done the work myself in the past. Most planners these days are labeled planner just because they can operate the software, and not for their knowledge of the actual work. That is where I am different. I started off by using Microsoft Projects and later moved on to several other packages (Sure Track, CCS Site Plan Primavera P3 and the one I use currently is Primavera P6). Currently I have been a full time Project Planner for about 10 years now. I was also involved with some institutions in the past like PMISA (Project Management Institute of South Africa) and CEASA (Cost Engineering Association of South Africa)
