Synchro Introduces the NEW PRO 5 Update

By Greg DEMCHAK I am really excited by our recent release of Synchro PRO 5.  Since joining Synchro in April of last year, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of you to help guide the development priorities and brainstorm new ideas.

One thing I do want to point out is our expanded 3D synchronization options that include a new plug-in for Navisworks Manage, a direct import of Bentley i-model files, and improvements to our Revit plug-in.  These new tools open the door for greater interoperability with key industry platforms. I am really excited by our recent release of Synchro PRO 5. One thing I do want to point out is our expanded 3D synchronization options that include a new plug-in for Navisworks Manage, a direct import of Bentley i-model files, and improvements to our Revit plug-in. These new tools open the door for greater interoperability with key industry platforms. For example, the i-model import is especially powerful when coupled with Bentley’s SmartPlant database extraction tools. You can now tap into a SP3D database directly and generate i-model files that contain all the geometry and metadata. This can then be imported into Synchro where user fields can be used for filtering, auto-matching, and synchronization. Find out more.  I invite your feedback and suggestions at any time. Synchro Mobile App - coming soon: the mobile app for pro Synchro is hard at work on its first mobile app, due for release with Synchro Pro 5.1. Among our roadmap’s features for this release are: extensions to Synchro Pro that support workflows and their assignment to resources; and extension of a project’s user and role capabilities to control field access privileges. In the field app, expect: wireless 4D model and task fragnet visualization; geometry based workflow status reporting; property updates; photo and text note taking; and full synchronization of field observation with Synchro Pro and Synchro Server.

ANONYMOUSE JOB HUNTING?

Hello.  Since the start of 2015 we have been receiving multiple emails from members asking us to help them find a better job.

As we are simply a group of Project Controls people running this fine website and are not recruiters or a job board all we have been able to do is to point them to our jobs pages.

What is interesting is that 70% of people have come back to us asking if we can help them find a better job BUT in such a way that their friends, colleagues, boss and / or Mr. LinkedIn doesn't find out that they might be looking.

How the heck do we do that?

SOLUTION - we think we might be able to work a means for us to be able to anonymously advertise ourselves as being available for work but in such a way that our friends, colleagues and boss do not know about it.

OK, so we all know that critical path schedules are set on early dates. This means that each activity is scheduled to start on the earliest possible date, based on the logic in predecessor activities. We also know that in actual projects it is NEVER the case that each activity actually starts on the early date.
