how to use top down estimation + dummy resource for pricing?

 

ALL

I was told by one of my colleague to use the top down estimation to arrive at a particular cost estimate per activity. I tried already putting the total project value in the WBS window - tools - top down estimation. Then i assign the project - then the resource. Afterwards, write down the total amount accross resource current units. However the total amount shown on top of the column for activities window is not the same as the value i inputted. 

Please advise on what mistake i have done.
