The Mandena Joint Venture is a Hatch Fluor Partnership formed for the EPCM of a Dredge Mine and associated separation and recovery plants along with extensive infrastructure, for QMM who are a division of Rio Tinto. This project is located at Fort Dauphin in Madagascar with engineering and procurement being performed from Johannesburg, South Africa..

As the Site Control Team Leader I was Responsible for the preparation of the execution schedules, for the Detailed Engineering and Construction phases of the project as well as maintaining the Project Execution Plan. This project consisted of the design and construction of a new natural gas reformer facility and modifying existing units and associated utilities at the Sasol facilities in Sasolburg. These schedules also included detailed multi-disciplined shutdown schedules.

As the Site Control Team Leader I was Responsible for the preparation of the execution schedules, estimating and the cost control for the construction phase of the project.
The site works are to be performed by five major contractors and numerous sub contractors on demolition, design, procurement, fabrication, erection and commissioning activities. This project includes civil, structural, mechanical, conveyors, piping, electrical and instrumentation works.

Responsible for the estimating, planning, scheduling, co-ordination, cost control and close out maintenace turn-arounds and projects in all of the South african Refineries.

As the Fluor Daniel/Consortium Planner I was responsible for the planning, scheduling and co-ordination of all parties working on the explosion damage at the Mossgas Refinery. This included three major contractors, Fluor Daniel’s director work force, numerous sub contractors and the refinery’s own work force, on demolition, design, procurement, fabrication, erection and commissioning activities. This project included civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works.

Responsible for the planning, scheduling, co-ordination and cost control of Fluor Work Force and Sub-Contractors on the construction and maintenace projects in all of the South African Refineries as well as the largest undertaken at the Kynoch Modderfontein facility.

Control Team Leader assigned to the Anglovaal Hartebeesfontein Gold Plant expansion project with overall responsibility for project cost and schedule monitoring, control and reporting. Responsible for establishing the overall project master schedule and for monitoring and co-ordinating the progress of multi disciplined sub-contractors. Also responsible for Project Cost Control, including monitoring actual expenditure against budget and identifying and formalising scope changes. Also produces monthly Cost and Schedule Progress Reports.

Responsible for a small team of Planners, Cost Engineers and Expediters, who compliled and implemented the Turn-aroud procedures for most of the ESCOM power stations in south africa.

Responsible for the Planning and coordination of the construction and commissiong of a low grade gold recovery plant. This covered all phases of the project, executed by various majour contractors and their sub-contractors, during this period was delegated the powers of tthe engineer. Finalisation of the contract including the settlement of all claims

Responsile for a team of Field Schedulers, Planning Engineers and Quantity Surveyors, who provided the planning, measurement and control functions for various GOSP’s and Gas Compression Facilities. Agreed contractor schedules and manpower levels, also assisted with the review and ajudication of claims
