Metronet – Assessment Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
Metronet were a PPP provider to London Underground for the upgrade and maintenance of the Sub-Surface lines, and Bakerloo, Central and Victoria Lines. Ben was seconded to Atkins, one of the Metronet partners, to assist their pumps and drainage team.
As assistant project manager for the track drainage yearly inspections and assessments packages, Ben assisted in management of the yearly asset inspection cycle. He developed the work package for procurement based on ALARP principles, and subsequently reviewed and assessed the subcontractors’ tender submissions to reach a recommendation to award. Post contract award, Ben was responsible for managing the programme of works and reviewing weekly progress with the appointed subcontractor.
Ben was also project manager of an asset cataloguing project for the production of track drainage assessment reports.
