New Burlington Danes Medical Research Facility (Hammersmith Hospital), London, UK
Worked as part of the planning team in a successful bid for the £60m Burlington Danes Medical Research Facility at Hammersmith Hospital in London. I researched specialist areas to be constructed such as Cyclotrons and visited Manchester Hospital. Burlington Danes is a state-of-the-art facility providing the UK with a centre of excellence for clinical imaging. Researchers and staff from Imperial College London, Medical Research Council (MRC) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) combined to form a major research partnership housed in two buildings. Duties involved producing Tender Design, Procurement and Construction Schedules.
Demolition & New Lee Valley Sports Stadium, UK
Worked as the tender planner responsible for development of all programmes, schedules, preliminary costs and client presentation. The successful bid involved the demolition of the existing Lee Valley Leisure Centre and construct the new Lee Valley Athletics Centre which became an award-winning state of the art training facility for athletes of all levels. The facility is the largest indoor and outdoor athletics centre serving London and the South of England. The indoor centre comprises the only indoor 200-meter track in the region, permanent seating for 500 spectators and full indoor jumps and throws facilities. The external works included a 400-meter track, Field events facilities, Covered seating for 350 spectators and an Outdoor terrace. This facility was used as part of the London 2012 Olympics site.
New Veterinary Laboratories & Energy Centre (DEFRA), Addlestone, UK
Worked in the site planning team at a high security site. The facility provides all sectors of the animal health industry with animal disease surveillance, diagnostic services and veterinary scientific research. Duties included document control, monitoring progress, technical queries, procurement, planning and programming, site management and supervising a junior planner.
Major Refurbishment of St Georges Court, London, UK
Worked in the site planning team for Shepherd Construction refurbishing a ten-storey office building for the Ministry of Defence on Oxford Street, London. The project was high security in nature and duties included programming works, materials procurement, design coordination, document control and site management.
