SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the project manager, the site project planner ensures site administrator planning,
organizes, coordinates and implement comprehensive planning documents and programs; implements
program goals and objectives; evaluates site planning requirements; inspect facilities and performs a
variety of administrative tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility; and lastly exercise fair
independent judgment and decision making in the course of duties performer.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION (KOEBERG LP RETROFIT PROJECT)
Alstom has signed a eur125 million ($160 million) (r1.6 billion) contract with Eskom to retrofit the low-pressure turbines at the Koeberg nuclear power station in South Africa. The retrofit will increase the output of the 920mwe units by over 65mw, improve availability and reliability, and also extends the lifetime of the plant. The retrofits will be carried out during planned refuelling outages, thus reducing the chance of interruption to generation from the station. My core duties regarding the project, involve the pre outage (site establishment) planning, working together with the coordination planning team to help with the executing of the outage. Project tracking, project milestones, s-curves, detailed resource allocations, as well as the post outage planning of the site clearance.
