Exporting P6 R 15.1 Risk Register to PRA

This is the latest technique to transfer risk data from P6 to PRA when direct linkage doesn't work. Can take data from P6 using 'copy and paste' instead of developing a report. It's a more effective method and allows some manipulation once in Excel. Hope you like it. Let me know if you have any questions. https://youtu.be/e5fvg1a0erU

All:

This is the work-around I'm using. Would have been so much nicer if it wasn't necessary. If anyone has the key to direct linkage, please let me know. This is for all those folks who have to use .xer files to feed PRA. I encourage you to use the P6 Risk Register in lieu of an Excel derived platform. Hope the video helps. Corrections or suggestions welcome.

When working with project portfolios that share resources and financial constraints how do you merge all the related projects and their risk registers into PRA?

Dennis,

You already know I am not a PRA nor a P6 user as they do not provide enough resource modeling capabilities for my needs. Anyway the issue of risk modeling is universal and I am interested on what Primavera brings.

Of course using PRA while using P6 to manage resource leveled schedule makes no sense as the resource leveling schedules will differ, in many cases by a substantial amount.

It might be you cannot export the file from P6 to PRA but that you must use PRS to import.

The following might be of interest to PRA users as it provides some suggestions for risk mitigation and a few hints.

Good luck.
