As stated by Mr. Anning sofi,  availability of the ‘wild air’ on a ongoing  project  a major milestone date. achievement of this milestone date means the project is substantially complete !

The testing , commissioning and balancing will be follow on activities which will continue until the consultant/clients representatives witness and acceptance inline with the design parameters.

If the contractor unable to turn on the wild air and unable to continue with the associated Testing and commissioning activities as per the contract program/schedule, MEP contractor has to bear the contractual delay consequences.

It would be MEP contractors responsibility to protect the installations in a best possible manner, operate the systems, demonstrate the performance of the systems inline with the design parameters and maintenance of the systems as necessary to facilitate successful handover to the client.

MEP contractor has to operate the installed systems in order demonstrate the performance and has to maintain in good condition to assure the performance. It would be MEP contractors responsibility to handover a operational system to the client to his satisfaction.

Also, I would like to make a note that, Civil contractor can take advantages of the wild air availability to complete the critical finishing activities.

Rajat, I think the word Tower in the milestone just refer to the building. Like you have the Princess Tower, or Tower 1.

Mohammed,

"Wild Air" is for to have a temperature controlled environment during construction phase, or prior to final commissioning/handing over of the permanent HVAC system. This is a usually a milestone event for high rise buildings / healthcare projects or the like. Why do you need wild air on?  See Charleston Joseph posting above. Simply, you dont want to have your installation works damaged by effects of temperature? Gypsum boards, finishing, and othe temperature sensitive materials may be damaged.

If you look at the diagram of Sadeequlah for the requirements of wild air, it can be summarized into

1) There must be electrical power;

2) the HVAC system in place (CW, piping, ducts,insulation, equipment);

3) The building envelope should be available or enclosed.

As an additional note, If the project current progress has difficulty in meeting the milestone date for "Wild Air" due to many issues, provide "Temporary Wild Air", to allow for the finishing works to proceed. This means, there will be a need to install Temporary Enclosures and portable Wild Air equipment. The benefits of having progress continue with  finishing and installation works, and circumvent delays will outweigh the additional costs for temporary wild air.

Yes that is correct. In addition to that ...

I used "Wild Air" in my planning. The activity description is "Wild Air Supply".

The project is high rise tower building with sensitive finishing materials that involve wood or timber. Also, finishing materials that is sensitive to extreme temperature and humidity.

As you are aware, our place of work experience temperature more than 48 degrees celsius with extreme humidity. Finishing wood and timber materials will warp unless some temporary air are introduce to bring down the temperature. In addition, moisture will be present in your finishing materials and will damaged your work unless temporary air is introduce.

This temporary air is called "Wild Air" You can’t get "Wild Air" from ther surrounding environment because the surrounding air is hot and humid. So, where to get the "Wild Air".

The wild air is supply by the chillers. Ther precedent activity is to energies and get power to your chillers. Then run the chillers to start supplying "Wild Air" to the tower.

Wild Air is cool air being blown through the AC Ducting, prior the AC System being operational, which is not thermostatically controlled, but allows the building finishes to proceed in a semi-conditioned environment.
