This problem has been acknowledged by Primavera and they are working on it. There is an ongoing discussion in POINT about this. I posted this just to make others to be aware of it. Nothing to do with if you know how to work!
The problem appears that the programme is not looking at the predefined values of Role IDs or Resources.
To illustrate the problem, create any filter, eg. Roles Id equals ..., under the Value column, you have to enter the value manually. This is strange. Since Role IDs are already defined in Enterprise/Roles, when you create a filter for it, you would expect that only those defined values should be available to choose from when creating a filter.
If you try to filter under activity id, you cant enter the values manually - you have to pick it up from the pull down menu. I think it should be similar while filtering for Role IDs and Resources as well. But it is not and it does not work properly.
yes, but really sometimes the filters of P6 are confusing, because there are defaults that you cant modify, and when you try to use multiple filters on Bars..(i really had a hard time), im not sure though if I got the bug or it is with the software...
note: you can modify the default filters by copying and pasting.

it happens when you got multiple resources assigned to certain activities. If you got single resource assigned to activities, "equals" will work

Bijaya,
try selecting the correct Resource ID
