Open the Editor --> select the groups header where you would like to assign a filter by left mouse button --> right mouse button --> properties --> select button "Filter".
There is one item I didnT manage by the Editor: The matrix for time distributed data. And I found it easier to create a report with the wizzard.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I made a copy of the Original report and modified it using the Report Editor. This needs some practice as the editor is not very intuitive to use.
Also, the original report has some really good/complex formatting and grouping, which would probably be impossible to accomplish with the Wizard. Does anyone one where I can learn about formating using EDITOR?
Also, I was unable to use filters via the EDITOR (For Ex. If I want to report on CRITICAL ACTIVITIES only). It is easy enough to do in the Wizard, but I am not sure if we can do it in the Editor?
Thoughts?

I always start with the wizzard. Important is the report group you select. This choice will determine the available data.
The second step, if required, is a fine tuning with the editor for different formatting and more loop-throughs - i.e. more available data items. For this step I always use a copy of the original.

Do you want to create a report with your own alignment / field etc or you want to generate report using the wizard ? Using the wizard is more easy but much limitation is there. If you want to develop a report in your own style you may need the admin power.
