Hi Arslan,

So unfortunately I can not help you with this.

Cannot agree more... SAP integration depends on the level of integration, I guess you need to know exactly what SAP can or cannot do before you integrate the two together, otherwise you will find that you might have a two different sets of data.

The integration of Planning and Scheduling software with ERP systems is hard work.

Unfortunately the systems I have come across have been put together by people who do not know anything about planning and scheduling software and do not work well.

The common thread with all the problem system I have come across is the ignorance of the requirement of 3 routines not one. A create and an update from the ERP system is required and a return data to the ERP system is also required. Different data is exchanged in each process.

Hi Valentin,

i do understand your concern, since we commit to roll over the new ERP system and P5 will be the planning software, i am trying to develop a checklist which highlight the short comings.

do you have a timeline which tells you with the level 1 activities along with the milestones for the implementation of system in your organisation. i am not asking for a copy but a guideline for way forward.

Hi Arslan,

I am not involved in this project at my company, but I do know we are experiencing trouble importing data from SAP. We just recently switched worldwide to SAP and now are experiencing data-loss when importing and also problems with cpu-load. Sometimes it takes 60 seconds per activity. So I guess it’s not working fine (yet).

Alex,

we are evaluating P5 for well service company as we are invlove in drilling & well completion so my concern is how effective it will be to integrate and export/ import data from drilling & completion softwares to P5.

in near future we will be shifting to ERP software like SAP, MS dynamics etc. want to check the overall performance of P5 with these softwares.

Cheers,

Arslan.
