GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Ensure the efficient delivery of statewide highway design projects by providing project management oversight and support.

Provide Project Management oversight on assigned Highway design projects; Schedule and facilitate project meetings, maintain project notebooks and schedules, and ensure issues are communicated effectively and brought to resolution.
Monitor, review, analyze, and forecast project schedules to ensure task completion dates are met in a dynamic project delivery environment.
Serve as a liaison to facilitate the communication of project schedules, status, and needs across the agency.
Develop and generate standard, ad hoc, and custom reports that summarize information to be presented to decision makers
Train and provide technical assistance to internal Project Management Software users.
Perform complex data analysis to identify and research historical data associated with project schedules, activity durations, and resource efforts to establish baseline project schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERENCES:

-Preference may be given to candidates with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar.

KNOWLEDGE: (Examples of Knowledge are intended to be cumulative for each progressively higher level of work. The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning other knowledge.)

Skilled in written and oral communications; interpersonal relationships; organizational and time management; the use of project scheduling software (such as Oracle Primavera); office automation software (Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Documents); document management systems (Falcon); database principles and report writing tools (such as SQL, Infoview and Crystal Reports).
Ability to work and make decisions independently; maintain and manage multiple priorities; collaborate with program managers, district engineers and information technology experts; identify critical path activities and facilitate the resolution of challenges in project delivery; apply new technologies.
Knowledge of the Department’s processes, policies, and procedures relating to plan development and delivery; preliminary engineering design activities and their predecessor and successor activities; principles of project scheduling and project management; engineering principles and practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:	Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Business)
PLUS
Experience:	0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst I
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:	4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst I
