1. Worked with the Project Control Manager on what are required for the control of the project in term of scheduling, monitoring and reporting to client for the line under our control.
2. Liaise with the Project Management Office as what are the overall project requirements and obligations to the client so that my team can be in alignment to the needs.
3. Manage 4 in house schedulers and 3 site schedulers making sure that the programs are maintained and progressed per project specifications to satisfy the client.
4. Meeting with the schedulers on a regular basis making sure that they are aware and understand what are the latest development and changes to the project program that needs to be addressed for the monthly report.
5. Preparing of the Monthly Report, Weekly Report and the daily report to the satisfaction of the team and the client.
6. Updating of the Contractual Master Program on the monthly basis. Simultaneously, maintain a detailed site construction program taking into consideration of the actual situation of delay and the mitigation measures to improve the program.
7. Prepared a set of charts to share with the team and the clients as where works have been carried out and the status.
8. Maintaining of staff roster to avoid bottleneck of the scheduling activity within the project control department.
9. Motivate staff to excel in the field of scheduling.

Initially assigned to the head office in Perth to complete the Definitive Program for BHP Billiton Iron Ore's multi billion dollar expansion project for Newman site. Further to the completion of the Definitive Program, I was assigned to Newman site to oversee the construction program. Duties include the production of the weekly report, coordinating with Contractors' Planners on programming issues and reporting aspect. Software used for the planning function was Primavera P3.1 and subsequently migrated to P6.
Managed 4 site planners and overseeing over 20 contracts for RGP4 Newman Hub ore handling facilities, Jimblebar and OB25 Rail Project. In order to maintain a consistence reporting submission from all contractors, I conducted program workshops to successful contractors. The work shops were targeted in helping the contractor in their detailed construction program preparation to meet BHP Billiton Iron Ore requirements. The contractors were also briefed on the weekly reporting requirements to be submitted on a weekly and monthly basis.
The planning team under my direction, reviewed and approved construction programs. In addition to that, planners were briefed the strategies in evaluating EOT claim, assessing recovery programs and producing interfacing charts and the weekly monitoring document for management meeting.
I was awarded the Certificate of Recognition for excellence in planning for the project.
Following the completion of the multi billion dollars Newman mining infrastructure successfully, I was relocated to the multimillion dollar wharf construction project in Port Hedland, Western Australian, from 18 Oct 2009.
While in Port Hedland, I worked on the SMP Contractor as well as the Electrical Contractor. Besides the green field component, there were SHUT interfacing works to be completed as well. The project was executed well with major and SHUT milestones achieved as planned.

Attached to the civil Contract C280 (consisting of 34k of viaduct) in Nov 2002 with 2 Senior Planning & Programming Engineers under my charge. Upon the completion of the civil works, the team was assigned to the Trackwork Contract T230, which is one of the major Track Contracts of the NT$20 billion Taiwan High Speed Railway Corporation project. Contract T230 consists of 105km of route length of track related works. Responsibilities include: 1) reviewing of Contractor's Construction Program for approval, 2) review and commenting of Contractor's 3 Month Rolling Program, Monthly Progress Report and specific programs 3) attended the monthly progress meeting with the main Contractor, 4) chair the monthly Program Meeting with main Contractor's Program Manager and his team of planner, 5)producing of independent recovery program 4) monitor by exception the critical items of works. 5) setting up of progress monitoring system 6) writing of fortnightly progress report for the Resident Engineer and his team's information. 7) writing of monthly report on behalf of the Resident Engineer for Head Office reference 8) prepare presentations for visiting VIP to site. As from 1 Sep 04, I was transferred to the Head Office Project Control Department in Taipei, working on claims assessment on Trackwork Contracts.

Appointed as a Senior Programming Engineer for the Lantau Airport Railway Project in 1992. Responsibility includes 1) Development of in-house construction programs from which Critical Dates and Milestone Dates Schedule were established. 2) Served as a member of the Tender Assessment Team for preparation of tender documents and the evaluation and recommendation of tenders received. 3) Review and approval of detailed design and detailed construction programs submitted by consultants and contractors respectively. 4) Monitoring of design and construction progress.
Projects involved include the HK$33 billion Airport Railway, HK$20 billion Tseung Kwan O Extension and other smaller projects such as the Disney Rail Link, the Lantau Cable Car and the North Island Line.
Performed a leading role in the coordination for the production of various Project Definition Document (PDD), namely the Lantau Airport Railway (LAR), Tseung Kwan O Extension (TKE), Quarry Bay Congestion Relief (QBR), Penny's Bay Rail Link (PBL) and Lantau Airport Railway Capital Works (LAR2) Projects. The preparation and the production of the PDD working alongside with various engineers of different discipline on a tight schedule to complete them on time for presentation to senior management. Once agreed by the senior management, the PDD will form part of the project strategy.
Other functions include the writing of the coordinated monthly report for the Programming & Planning Manager who present it to the executive. Making of 3-dimention models for the projects to highlight the problematic areas, e.g. the Quarry Bay Congestion Relief project showing the new underpinning works below the existing structure, the new tunnels cutting into the existing tunnels and the TKE Depot's interfaces with MTRCL's Property Development Division and Government Departments.

Bottom up detailed shutdown programs were prepared with Primavera Finest Hour software. All activities were scheduled to the hour, identifying the critical path for each of the shut down works. From the detailed program tender programs were established for tender purposes. Executive summary programs were also developed for higher management information and references.
